Company Description

One of the most difficult times for seniors and their families is when needs change and it is necessary to seek support from outside the family. This situation is made even more daunting due to the fragmented nature of services for seniors. Finding providers who are competent, respectful and trustworthy can be challenging, if not overwhelming.

Bay Isles Group LLC was formed in 2008 with the mission of creating a system of services for seniors. The core value of the system is to support seniors in a manner that allows them to continue to live life with dignity, meaning and joy. By providing a comprehensive system, individuals and families do not need to find new service providers as needs change, and continuity of support can be achieved.

Service Offering

Bay Isles Group envisions a system that includes both concierge and residential offerings. Concierge services allow people to live in their own homes safely and actively as long as they choose and include things such as care management, homemaker, personal care, companion, day care, respite and home health services. Residential options include independent and assisted living.

Market Analysis

The primary market area of Bay Isles Group is Sarasota and Manatee County in Florida. These two counties have the highest percentage of seniors (30%) of any counties in the United States. Sarasota County is in the top ten counties within the U.S. with the highest per capita income.


For Arthur Lerman, the CEO and founder, Bay Isles Group represents the fulfillment of his commitment to make a difference for seniors and transform the experience of aging. Drawing on his personal and professional experiences, Arthur has developed an approach to senior supports that creates a new standard of support. Arthur brings decades of personal experience and more than twenty-five years of professional experience in long-term care and behavioral health to his work. His experiences range from childhood visits over a period of ten years to his grandfather in a nursing home, to designing and developing long-term care and rehabilitation facilities, to managing assisted living, nursing facility, and home health services, to working on long-term care policy as a legislator and consultant to states, He is licensed in the State of Florida as an assisted living facility administrator and a community association manager.

Business Plan

Bay Isles Group’s business goals for 2009 are to acquire two existing assisted living facilities within Sarasota and Manatee Counties and initiate personal care, home health and care management services. The acquisition of the assisted living facilities will provide a solid financial base for operations and a physical presence within the community. During this start-up phase, the purchase of existing operations, rather than developing new facilities, minimizes risk. In addition, discussions are ongoing with established care management and home health agencies with the goal of expanding the Bay Isles system through cooperative agreements, mergers or acquisitions.
